Joint Symposium of Agricultural Machinery Section and IT & Mechatronics Section of JSAM
“Considering the future of data coordination of agricultural machinery”

Event Outline

Purpose:

While the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) sets its policy objective to the effect that “Almost all of agricultural entities will engage in the agriculture by utilizing the data in 2025”, the number of agricultural management entities utilizing data are still 183,000 and such number accounts for only 17.0% of the total number of agricultural management entities (source: Agriculture and Forestry Census 2020). On the other hand, as far as the management entities with the area of 50ha or more are concerned, the agricultural management entities utilizing data accounts for 60%, which suggests that the utilization of data is essential for promotion of the large-scale and labor-saving agriculture.

What will the future of data utilization in the Japanese agriculture be in 2025 and beyond? In such future, how will the data of agricultural machinery be utilized? Now is the time when the parties concerned should consider the picture of such future as a unit.

Therefore, in this symposium, the experts will give lectures on the advanced efforts in Japan and overseas relating to the utilization of agricultural data as well as the utilization of machine data in different industries.
Furthermore, in the panel discussion, the picture of the future of data coordination in Japanese agriculture will be discussed. Any person, whether a member or non-member of JSAM, can participate in this event free oh charge. Please feel free to participate in this symposium if time allows.
